My Favorite 35mm Film Photos of 2021

Hello hello to my little space on the internet, where I share more about my love for photography, travel, the outdoors and more. To commemorate my very first blog post, I would like to share my favorite 35mm film photos from this year.

To give you a bit of a background, I started consistently using a film camera last year around June 2020. Before then, I mainly used my digital SLR to take photos. I was looking for a new way to revive my passion that I’ve had for this art form since middle school (anyone else have a point and shoot Kodak camera and edited photos in Picasa??) I mainly use a Nikon FM2 and a variety of 35mm film stock; I think my favorite is Kodak Gold 200 or Ektar 100. Film in a way has forced me to be more mindful because you only have a limited 24-36 exposures per film roll. Without further ado: (click on each photo to zoom for your viewing pleasure)

Well…that was much more difficult that I expected. Every single film photograph means a lot to me because of the story, memory and intention behind it. So it’s hard to choose favorites. I’ll be posting “travel journal” posts in the future featuring more information about these beautiful places! Goodbye 2021—and to many more film captured moments in 2022.

Best, Tonia
